TORONTO — Good for Her announced that the official nomination period for the 7th annual Feminist Porn Awards will be closing on Feb. 17.
The Feminist Porn Awards honor pornographers whose work offers a fresh perspective on the sexual expression of women and other adult industry members who finds themselves under-represented in mainstream pornography.
The company said in order to be considered for a Feminist Porn Award, submissions must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- The work depicts genuine pleasure, agency and desire. These movies may also include a focus on connection, communication and collaboration between the performers and/or between the performers and filmmakers.
- The work expands the boundaries of sexual representation on film, challenges stereotypes and presents a vision that sets the content apart from most mainstream pornography. This may include depicting a diversity of desires, types of people, bodies, sexual practices, and/or an anti-racist or anti-oppression framework throughout the production.

A Canadian Iranian software engineer is facing imminent execution in Tehran for allegedly operating a pornography website after the Iranian Supreme Court rejected a final appeal from his lawyers.
Saeed Malekpour, 35, says he was tortured into making a confession about the website on live TV and Iranian officials used the broadcast to give him the death sentence.
The software engineer's family says the web software was only designed for uploading and sharing photos and that adult sites used it without is knowledge.
Human rights campaigners believe the hardline Islamist regime wants to use Malekpour as an example as it cracks down on Internet freedom ahead of elections.
